I truly have a passion to serve ladies with compassion, patience and understanding. After a career in dentistry, I decided to change my future and bought a Merle Norman Store. During this time, two of my good friends were battling breast cancer. I saw what few product options were available for them during their time of need and I felt a call to open a post mastectomy boutique not only to help them but other women who are being challenged by the same issues. They openly shared with me how they felt during the breast cancer treatment (the good, bad, and ugly!) and this experience led me to open Sweet T’s Post Mastectomy Boutique @ Merle Norman in October of 2019.
My husband and I have been lifelong residents of Nicholasville and we have four wonderful daughters and sons-in-law. We are blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren.
Shirley worked at the University of Kentucky for over 15 years before retiring several years ago. Her mother helped start one of Central Kentucky’s first post mastectomy shops in Lexington. Shirley and her mother owned and worked in that boutique for over 50 years. Though Shirley has seen many changes in the post mastectomy world, the one thing that remains the most important is her concern for the breast cancer community. Shirley brings knowledge and experience to each lady that comes into Sweet T’s and she is steadfast in her desire to give all ladies the very best individual care possible.
Shirley is blessed with a beautiful family that includes two sons, one grandson, and four great-grandchildren. Her hobbies include time with family and friends and a love of old movies.
